I just got my DS lite browser and I really wanted to format my website to look good on a DS. How can I make it look better? I could change my main CSS file but it may mess up my website’s style for people on real computers, and that’s 99% of my traffic. I could use a mobile plugin, but the DS is pretty powerful and can handle CSS/images. I have taken the mobile plugin and added some very cool and important features. The best part is that everybody can benefit from my work because I will be releasing all of the source code right here.

The alpha 0.1 will be available on October 22 or earlier. I still have to test everything on my own DS to see if there are any major bugs or errors. This will be the page that has all of the information, files, and more.

As I learn more about technology I will create many projects. All of the road maps and project information will be here.

I have been informed by Media Temple (mt) that the server that hosts this website will be moved to another data center tonight. The outage will occur between 11:00 PM and 5:00 AM Mountain time.

Dear Site Owner,

(mt) Media Temple would like to notify you and the Contacts on your Account of upcoming network and data center relocation that may affect some of your hosting related services.

DATE/TIME WINDOW:
—————————-
START: Friday, September 29th 2006 10:30PM PDT
END:   Saturday, September 30th 2006 4:30AM PDT

AFFECTED RESOURCES:
—————————-
DATA CENTER: (LA-IDC2)
SERVERS: Listed Below

MAINTENANCE ACTION:
—————————-
Expert staff from (mt) Media Temple will be relocating servers from the (LA-IDC2) data center to the new Tier-4 facility (EL-IDC3). This maintenance action will require that your server’s connectivity to the internet be taken offline for some period of time and therefore customers should prepare for a disruption of service to web, email, and ftp. It is projected that only a small portion of the maintenance window will actually be needed and servers will be restored before the window’s end date/time.

Meticulous planning has been performed to ensure that the procedure is completed safely with appropriate emergency roll-back procedures in place. (mt) Media Temple has made backups of all affected servers and storage devices. The procedure represents a highly positive end result for customers as the new facility provides greatly enhanced levels of power redundancy, cooling efficiency and security.

For more information, customers are encouraged to visit a special area of the (mt) Media Temple website specifically relating to this data center relocation project:

http://www.mediatemple.net/go/idc2-idc3/

Thank you in advance for your understanding.

I hope that the move to the EL Segundo data center will speed things up around here. We’ll have to see! I am going to upload some large files and download them to see speeds on the current connection.

The following is from QJ.net

You read that title correct. Nintendo has gone through hardware shortages with the DS. They’ve gone through the same hell with the DS Lite. They’ve gone through software shortages as well with this little system that could. Now, they’re facing plastic shortages.

Instead of selling their DS games in their plastic covers, they’re going back to the old cardboard covers they used to use with the Game Boy Advance. The new cases will be the same size as the plastic DS cases. They’ll also have a small explanation saying that only the case is different and that everything else is the same. Those who desperately want a plastic one can call customer service and get it in late December.

The letter which spoke of these events was by the Nintendo of Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg) but there’s a chance that it may reach other parts Europe as well. It might not stop there either, it may be a problem in North America and Japan.

The following games will be in cardboard boxes:

Super Mario 64 DS
Nintendogs Chihuahua & Friends
Nintendogs Dachshund & Friends
Nintendogs Labrador & Friends
Mario Kart DS
Animal Crossing: Wild World
Tetris DS
Nintendogs: Dalmatian & Friends
New Super Mario Bros.

Here is a shot of the Revision 3 workstation. It was found in Owen Byrne’s Flickr account. Looks like they are spending some serious money, which can only mean one thing. New shows!

This is just the start of whole Google GDrive. Google has already released a spreadsheet applicaton, calendar, and some others. The addition of Writley to the Google Account is great for everybody.

Pretty much the only reason I bought a Nintendo DS Lite was to browse the web. In late July 2006 the DS web browser launched in Japan. I thought that the English version was going to be available in Canada in no time, but I was wrong. I waited nearly two months and not a single word was said about a North American release. There was, in fact, a release date announced for Europe, but the price was significantly higher and the date was just a little too far away.

I recently went to Japan so I can get around in a Japanese interface, so I thought why not, lets buy the browser. The actual price in Japan is 3,300 YEN or about $33 USD which is incredibly reasonable, especially considering games can be $45. My mind was made up but a new problem arose, how do I get the browser?

I have been watching all of the DS web broswer videos on You Tube and the photos of people browsing on Flickr and always wondered where they got it. It turned out that most of them live in Japan. Whenever you can’t find or get something where do you go? eBay. I searched around and the cheapest one I could find was $45 + $12 shipping. I actually bid on that one and realized that it was for the larger DS, therefor the memory expansion would stick out a few milimetres. With only a few minutes left in that auction I got beat, thank you. I turned my attention to the Opera forums where I found out that they were importing the browser with two websites one being Lik-Sang and the other being Play Asia. Both websites list the browser at $49.90 but Lik-Sang guarenteed instant and free shipping.

Mid day Thursday I ordered the browser for a total of around $55 CDN or $49.90 USD. Judging by feedback from the Lik-Sang Forum, it should arrive in 2-3 weeks. I guess I could have paid more and got faster shipping, but I got ripped off as it is on the product its self.

For those of you looking to purchase from Lik-Sang I actually reccamend them (as of now). My order was shipped Saturday night without any problems. I hope everything works out.

As for the browser I will show a few photos just to get you interested.
