Just when you though MySpace could not get into someone else’s business they announced today that they will allow bands that are signed up on MySpace to sell their music. Currently their are 3 million unsigned bands signed up on MySpace.com. Snocap will provide the technology for sell the music.
All of the music will be sold in MP3 format and the best part is that there will be no copy protection of any kind. It is currently unclear wheather the band can set the price or how much profit the bands can make.
If the bands can make at least 75% profit, both MySpace and the bands will earn alot of money. Currently signed artists only earn a few cents on music purchased via iTunes or similar services.
