I just got accepted for the Media Temple Django beta for the grid server. I began learning Django about 8 months ago but quickly became frustrated since it was difficult and expensive to find a reliable and decent Django web host, forcing me to put my Django projects on hold. Media Temple’s plan is for new and existing grid server customers to add-on an inexpensive container in which they can house there production Django applications. Media Temple had proven their container technology in the MySQL and Ruby on Rails containers. They really do have a great engineering team at (mt).My plan during the beta test is to port over an existing PHP application that I worked on over the summer, to Django. The application deals with cataloguing certain videos. It has been quite some time since I have used Django so it may take a few weeks to get a somewhat working version.As I learn more about the Django container I will create some tutorials to share. It will probably still be in beta for the next few months. No pricing information has been released yet.
